T-shirt prints crack because a rigid ink layer sitting on top of the fabric cannot flex as far as the knit underneath it. Every wash and stretch works the layer slightly until it splits. Cause 1: The Print Sits On Top Instead of Bonding In
Cheap heat transfers and vinyl are essentially a plastic film pressed onto fabric. They have no bond with the fibre, so when cotton stretches and recovers, the film must move with it, and film does not stretch as far as knit does.
